Genova with ESN

So this Sunday I headed out to Genova (Genoa) on a trip organized by the Erasmus Student Network (ESN) an organization all around Europe that plans events, parties, trips etc for exchange students at a certain university. For a mere € 30 we got transportation, snacks, a tour and aperitivo which was a pretty good deal. The best part of going on ESN events though is getting to meet exchange students from all over the world. I spent two hours during apertivo at a table talking to people from Singapore, Canada, the Netherlands, Hungry and US. Getting to here the stories and travel experiences of people from all over the world is incredible. In Genova we were able to see some beautiful churches, piazzas, a basilicas, winding streets and a gorgeous sunset over the bay. Since Genova is a big port city there were giant cruise ships parked and lots of attractions on the waterfront. I also had the chance to buy some delicious pesto from a marketplace there because apparently pesto was created in Genova so I just had to buy some. Luckily my friend and I were able to buy the last two bottles in the entire marketplace!
